Two humans, two goldfish, and a dance troupe of seahorses perform together in a truly astonishing musical partnership. Our concerts and multimedia theatre shows flow with sea chanteys, ballads, and original songs about water and the creatures that swim in it, fly over it, or sail upon it. Lilting vocal harmonies weave with expertly rendered accompaniment on hammered dulcimer, piano, guitar, concertina, and other instruments.

And through it all gently trickles music directly from the water: notes and chords composed and played entirely by fish as they listened to our human performers. Through an amazing marriage of art and technology, our musical fish comprise an aquatic orchestra, playing a diverse collection of virtual instruments from electric guitar to jazz bass to orchestral harp. Our amazing fish have mastered literally hundreds of instruments, painting our music with a lush, lyrical, otherworldly yet accessible sound. This unprecedented collaboration between human and fish redefines musical beauty!

Animal Planet TV, BBC Radio, Ripley's Believe It Or Not, and newspapers worldwide have featured our performing fish. Fish have hidden depths!

Note: For the comfort and safety of our animals, we do not bring live fish to Neptune’s Keep
concerts. Instead, audio and video recordings of our performing fish are seamlessly integrated into our live shows.

Johnny Legpeg

In addition to Neptune's Keep, for over 30 years Stu has played with Bill Cagley as Greenwood Tree . Stu is also a member of Eisner's Klezmorim. Diane, a classically trained pianist, changed direction in college. She received degrees in wildlife science/animal behavior but eventually left the sciences to form her own professional puppetry troupe with Stu. After 25 years touring around the country with Freshwater Pearls Puppetry, Diane returned to her music and animal training roots to dive into fish music full time.
